| Great performance, stunning displays After reading the ads and hearing the hype, I finally decided to contact the Aliens. They promised me advanced gaming technology and a mobile desktop system. The delivery was slow though -- took over a month for them to mail me the configuration I wanted. After a month of using it -- the performance is perfect and the display is crisp. The only con is that is not "portable". It's like a desktop on your lap. Looks sexy just like the hype suggested. Overall though it's a great laptop but I'd prefer to go with a PowerBook the next time around. |
| So so performance on Area 51M notebook Bought an Area 51M notebook... 3.2GHZ, 1GB ram, 128MB video graphics card. Placed an order and waited for a long time to get it shipped. Arrived in perfect condition. No problems, everything worked right. Configuration was as advertised. But the performance is pretty much the same as a Dell or Apple computer. The only difference was the high price tag I paid for my Alienware laptop. The only real benefit is the looks -- other notebooks don't even come close to looking as good as an Alienware. |
| One expensive headache Save yourself a boat load of money and frustration by avoiding Alienware.com systems. The speed and reliability isn't what the hype will make you believe. Alienware laptops are about just as good as a Dell or Compaq! The only difference is the styling. |
| Beautiful styling, unique designs All I can say is WOW! I was totally blown away. I went with Alienware because of their notorious reputation for top notch components and innovative design. I bought my dream machine using a coupon I found here for 10% off. My Area-51 m5550 cost me about $150 less thanks to the promotional code. I went with a lower end model coz it had a smaller base price, and then added on all the bells and whistles as extras. |
