4 Things Bill Gates Knows That You Don't July 26, 2007
What's the secret to success in life? Be it personal or business goals, we can learn a thing or two from people like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs.

1. Get out of your comfort zone
Nothing of significance happens when you're in your cozy comfort zone. Don't let days go by. Set sky-high goals and then work your ass off to achieve them.
Imagining yourself being successful leads you to it. Every morning, take 5 minutes to visualize yourself achieving your goals. Then get to work!

2. Japanese Kaizen — Small daily improvements
The Japanese Kaizen way is to make small improvements day after day. Make it a goal to be better each day in a small way. Those small improvements eventually result in gigantic advantages.
 — Apple and Microsoft weren't built in a day.
3. Focus on what you want
Your fear arrives when you imagine what'll happen if you fail. Imagine what'll happen if you succeed! Focus on what you're going to do next and how you're going to make your ideas work.
Ask yourself... What would you do if you weren't afraid? — then do it.

4. Change like superman
In business, things change at a crazy speed. The key to being successful is to notice small changes early on — so you can adapt to bigger changes that are to come.
Remember the movie Matrix? When Neo fails trying to jump from one building to another? Success in life is the exact same. Almost no one succeeds the first time around.
If what you're doing isn't working, it just means the way of doing it isn't working. Keep at it and you will succeed. Never stop improving. Never stop doing something new.
Until next time...
Cheers, Nishank Khanna
